Turquoise Kintsugi Tea Cup

This one-of-a-kind turquoise kintsugi tea cup was made in Japan, then broken and repaired by hand using kintsugi, the Japanese art of mending pottery with gold. The cracks are not hidden. They are celebrated as part of the cup’s story, reflecting the idea that we can be whole not in spite of our scars and imperfections, but because of them.

Each crack is real, and every repair line is traced by hand using a brass metal blend that creates a gold-effect finish designed to closely resemble real gold. The result is a meaningful piece of Japanese ceramic art that is even more beautiful in person.
